Osmium is a metal which cannot be counterfeited.

The crystal structure can be identified approx. 10,000 times more securely than a fingerprint.

Osmium cannot be forged by using a core of a different metal because the density of this metal would be smaller than the density of osmium.

Osmium can only be crystallised by one single company worldwide, which has developed the process over a 40-year period of research and development. Covering the entire process requires approx. 160 steps during a period of three months. Therefore, the crystallisation cannot be bypassed.

In its non-crystalline form, osmium is a hazardous substance and is clearly recognisable as black coloured osmium sponge.
